History of Panic and Anxiety Connection
Originally established
under the name Support4Panic, we became a separate group in November of 2002.
Support4Panic's roots go back many years on the internet, growing itself from
yet another support group called Support and More (now known as Living With
Panic).
A
number of other still active groups have originated with Support4Panic, which
was officially established on May 8, 1996. Throughout the years, these groups have touched many
individuals around the world and helped them to have better lives. Our
structured environment, established guidelines and strong leadership have helped
make our groups successful and lasting.
Panic and Anxiety Connection was
under the leadership of Network Coordinators Peg Tillman, Shelley Plock ,Ines
Delia Mora, Manda Bartlett, and Lucy Johns.
Peg joined
Support4Panic in February of 2001, Ines in April of that year and Shell in May.
The group was then under the leadership of Maria Fisher, one of the original
founders of Support4Panic.
In October of 2001, Maria left to pursue her ministry and
handed the reigns of the group over to Peg, who was soon joined by Shell, with
Ines coming on board as a Network Coordinator later when one of the other
Coordinators left the
group.
After a year of leading the groups,
the four Network Coordinators made a decision to open the group under a new
name that would encompass the wide range of anxiety disorders supported within
the group and Panic and Anxiety Connection was
born.
